Good morning, esteemed Archpriestess.

I am here to report progress and achievements regarding the SubAkashic-Carnal Mind (SACM) Project. Please refer to document RSH-SACM-011 for a summary of this project if needed.

I decided to split the team into two groups: one dedicated to Akashic Vectorization of pre-existing minds, the other to the Subakashic-Carnal Scaffold.

This was done after last month’s breakthrough, following the ergosphere capture experiment, which gave conclusive results regarding the existence of Akashic vectors (AV), which were theorized and approximated a few years ago by Nolan Silver. We experienced a few mishaps to our systems after the discovery of a few AVs, now designated Genesis AVs. We are unable to find the actual content of these vectors, as each tentative led to either a crash or a full blown electrical failure of our mainframes. I requested testing on live subjects to the higher-ups, but I am still waiting for an answer. These Genesis AVs, considering their measured age, are theorised to contain fundamental informations regarding either the Akashic Plane itself, or consciousness (the line between the two blurring more each day). Some thinks they might even be the equivalent of DNA for our own universe. We have a few experiments planned for this month to test these different hypothesis.

Thanks to the ergosphere capture experiment, the Akashic Vectorization group manage to refine the instruments in order to capture more refined and discreet models. Yesterday’s test managed a partial scan of 17.2% of a subject’s mind, without noticable side effects. There is still a non-negligent error rate in the retreived vectors, but considering this was done over a month, and if no road-blocks are found, I predict in 2 months, we’ll have the technology needed to scan at least 90% of someone’s mind, with an error of less than 1%.

The Subakashic-Carnal Scaffold group are hard at work, showing a promising prototype of a AV interpreter and redirector. It is currently extremely slow as it takes the system on average 1.3s for each AV to be retreived and interpreted, but the incredible algorithm created by Sammy Konn in her last frenzy is following perfectly AV flows observed in live subjects. This group’s work is too in its infancy for me to predict anything. We can only wait and see. They also requested for a better organic interface to the biological research team, as the current one is error-prone and have a very limited bandwidth (on top of the high maintenance required).

Every month, sending that mail brings me chills, despite it being a direct request from our Archpriestess. I quickly glance at my inbox, seeing nothing urgent. I log out and turn off my computer. My arms raises, as I take a deep stretch. I look at the analog clock to the right of my monitor. “22:34”. I won’t have much time to rest if I go back home now.

I stand up and leave my office. I walk down the hallways to the refectory, my mind still filled with my work and research. Once the refectory’s door is open, I see Sammy in the corner, eating some mashed potatoes slowly, alone. I scan the rest of the room, only to see 3 persons from another research team loudly discussing in the middle of the room. I take my time to go grab some left over of today’s lunch. Sadly, I was too late. Every tray is empty and spotless. They already cleaned everything. I let out a sigh, followed by a growl of my stomach. I walk to the right, paying a vending machine to get a small tasteless sandwich.

I look around. “I don’t want to intrude on them, they seem to be rather close,” I think as I look at the small group of researchers. I glance at Sammy from the corner of my eyes. “And that one gives me the creeps…” I roll my eyes, not wanting to be alone right now. I walk to her and sit in front of her.

  • “Good evening Sammy.”
  • “Hi,” she replies, quickly, quietly.
  • “Um… I seen your report on the explanation of your algorithm, it’s quite a stunning view on the Akashic Vectors!” I add, trying to start any kind of conversation.
  • “Thanks,” she says between two bites.
  • “How… How did you figured that out, by the way? It feels so unorthodox, I cant help but wonder.”
  • “Unlike you, my life is…” she replies, her tone leaning more on anger, pausing for a short moment. “No. Sometimes you are forced to get a new perspective on the world” she adds before looking down at her plate.
  • “Is everything okay Sammy?” I ask genuinely, before taking a bite of the cardboard sandwich.
  • “Yes, everything is fine. Everything is top-notch,” she answers before standing up, leaving her plate as she leaves.

I look at her leave rather quickly. “Jeez what’s gone into her?” I look at my food. I eat it silently, the room filled by the conversation of that group until they all depart. I finish my sandwich in complete silence. I get up, and throw the plastic packaging away. I bring Sammy’s plate and fork to the dish return area. I walk back to my office, fatigue silencing my mind. I lay down on the couch, dozing off quickly, finally ending my day.
